Fire Performance
A study conducted by Guillaume fire tested both PE and FR based ACP material per ISO 13785-1.The test found that ACP FR resists vertical spread far better than ACP PE.Also it is clear that fire spread via the ACP FR cladding was minimal in comparison to ACP PE.
The test also recorded the heat release of burning ACP.The maximum heat rate of ACP FR is much lower than ACP PE.This demonstrates that the addition of fire resistant mineral filters significantly improve the fire performance of polymer-based ACP materials.
